Een timmerfabriekje
Dat was het hier ooit, voordat het tot de moderne woning getransformeerd werd die het nu is. Of Piet Hein Eek hier zijn eerste stoel in elkaar zette is niet helemaal zeker, maar zijn compagnon Ruijgrok had hier zijn werkplaats voordat ‘ie met Piet op Strijp T aan de gang ging.
Tjalkstraat 2a is een huis met karakter en geschiedenis; echt iets speciaals. Gelegen binnen de ring van Eindhoven, in een mooi straatje en fijne buurt. Het gezellige Trudoplein met kroeg, snack, kapper, kleermaker, chinees, pizzeria, supermarkt en weekmarkt om de hoek, Strijp S op loopafstand en een pizzaoven in de tuin.

Kom binnen
Bij binnenkomst sta je in de lichte, brede hal met garderobe, meterkast en toiletruimte.
De gehele begane grond is volledig voorzien van een eikenhouten vloer.

Woonkamer
De sfeervolle woonkamer heeft veel lichtinval door de openslaande tuindeuren en veel ruimte door het hoge plafond. De sfeervolle houtkachel (met geïsoleerde schoorsteenpijp) zorgt voor extra ambiance.
De berg-/trapkast biedt ruimte voor de wasmachine en opstelling van de cv installatie.

Keuken
In de moderne, open keuken in lichte kleurstelling vind je een 5-pits gasfornuis met wokbrander, afzuigkap, spoelbak, oven, koelkast met aparte vriezer (drie lades) en een vaatwasser. De hoekopstelling met het lange aanrechtblad zorgt voor veel werkruimte. Bovendien zijn in de keuken twee kersenhouten maatwerkkasten geplaatst.

Badkamer
Vanuit de woonkamer is de moderne badkamer toegankelijk. Deze is voorzien van een duo-ligbad met douche en regendouche, badkamermeubel met brede wastafel.
Vloerverwarming zorgt ervoor dat je hier geen koude voeten hebt!

Tuin
Via de openslaande tuindeuren in de woonkamer kom je uit in een echte stadstuin. In de zomer groeit en bloeit hij weelderig door de druivenranken, klimplanten en volle borders. Met de stenen pizzaoven, die tevens als barbecue of vuurplek gebruikt kan worden, is het heerlijk toeven in deze tuin.
Het afdakje is perfect om je fiets droog te zetten of een hangmat te hangen. Via de recent gerenoveerde poort kom je achterom.

Verdieping
De eerste verdieping is vanuit de woonkamer met een vaste trap bereikbaar. Je vindt er de slaapkamer, voorzien van een dakkapel en hoog plafond dat doorloopt tot in de nok en voor een ruimtelijk gevoel zorgt. De originele houten vloer is hier behouden gebleven. Samen met de originele balkenconstructie zorgt dit voor een authentieke sfeer. Het timmerfabriekje was echt!
De ruime slaapkamer is bovendien voorzien van een wastafelmeubel en tweede toilet (sanibroyeur).
Door middel van en-suitedeuren is een tweede slaapkamer met grote ingebouwde kastenwand bereikbaar, welke tevens als baby-of kinderkamer, inloop-kleedkamer of als werkkamer kan dienen.

Een unieke woning met een historisch verhaal en gezellige sfeer die je gewoon moet komen ervaren!

A carpentry factory
Before this became a modern house as it is now, this once was a carpentry factory. It is not sure that Piet Hein Eek made here his first chair, but his compagnon Ruijgrok had his first workshop here before they went toghether working at Strijp T. Tjalkstraat 2a is a house with character and history: realy something special. Located inside the centre area of Eindhoven, in a pretty little street in a fine neightbourhood. This cosy Trudoplein has a pub, snack bar, barber, tailor, Chinese restaurant, pizzeria, supermarket and weekly market around the corner. Strijp S on walking distance and a pizza oven in the backyard.

At arrival you will be standing in a light, wide hall with wardrobe, fusebox and toilet.
The entire ground floor is equiped with an oak wooden floor.

Living room
An atmospheric living room with a lots of light through the patio doors to the garden and quite spacious because of the high cealing. Extra sfeer with the cosy wood stove (with insolated chimney pipe).
The stairs cupboard offers space to the washing machine and boiler.

Kitchen
In this modern, open kitchen in light collors, you will find a 5 burner gas stove with wok burner, an extracor hood, sink, oven, fridge with separate freezer (three draws) and a dish washer. The corner set up with long counter top gives lots of workspace. Moreover there are in the kitchen two cherry wood custom made kabinets.

Bathroom
The modern bathroom is accessible from the living room. This is provided with a double bath with shower and rain shower, bathroom furniture with a large sink. Floorheating ensures that you will not have any cold feet!

Garden
You will reach a real city garden through the patio doors in the living room. In summertime the grape vines and climbing plants will grow and bloom opulent. With the stone pizza oven, which you could use as a barbecue or fire place, you will have a wonderful stay in this garden.
The lean-to is perfect to keep your bicycle dry or you could hang on a hammock. You could enter around the back through the renewed gate.

1st floor
The first floor is accessible via a fixed staircase. You will find there the bedroom with dormer that will give you a spacious feeling because of the high cealing that extends to the ridge. The original wooden floor has been preserved. Toghether with the original beam construction ensures an authentical atmosphere. The carpentry workshop was real!
The large bedroom is also provided with badroom furniture and a second toilet (Sanibroyeur).
A second bedroom with large fitted wardrobes is accessible through the en-suite doors. This room can also be used as a baby- or childrensroom, walk-in closeth of office.

An unique object with a history and cosy atmosphere which you have to experience!
